You are responsible for the entire term of the license agreement. If you wish to terminate your license agreement and terminate it before the end of the period, you are responsible for all rental fees credited to your Student Financial Services account. In the case of any early termination, the deposit expires automatically. Only students who have leave of absence or sick leave can terminate their license agreement and be exempt from all future rental fees. The deposit is lost. The possibility of subletting your apartment during the summer months (May-August) is only available to residents who have signed a license renewal contract for the new term. Any resident who sublets an apartment in violation of Yale`s housing subletting policy is subject to termination of their contract by the university. Students living in a dormitory have the first priority to stay in this room for the next school year. They must choose their room during the selection period for the same rooms in March and be in good academic and financial health with the university to sign a new housing contract. The university limits the subletting to Yale Housing of single-family homes or family apartments. The Yale Housing Office allows residents to sublet their apartment to other Yale partners only during the summer months (May-August). Subletting is not allowed in two- or three-bedroom shared apartments or dormitories. Apartments cannot be sublet during the academic year. Single rooms in an apartment cannot be sublet during the school year. Students graduating in the middle of the year should discuss their situation with a Yale housing manager to determine if campus life is the best option for them and their situation. Personal appliances, which may include washing machines and dishwashers, as well as heaters, are not allowed in graduate housing, whether dormitories or apartments. If there is a particular need, it is necessary to speak to the appropriate manager to see if an exception can be made. Air conditioning is not allowed in the dormitories. The fine of $100 per device is estimated for the discovery of the device and may include termination of the housing contract. Students who stay in the summer and next school year, but have locker rooms, will be notified by Yale Housing if they need to move into their new room assignment during the transfer week in July. Yale Housing is a smoke-free speaker. There is no exception for smoking in dormitories or apartments. If you smoke, you must be 10 meters (about 30 feet) from the property. If you wish to move to another apartment or complex, you will need to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to communicate your specific transfer request. A limited number of transfers are available within the Yale Housing System. Most transfers must take place between July 1 and July 15. Guests are not allowed to stay at the property beyond this date. Extenuating circumstances require special approval from the manager in advance. Leaving after the end date without permission is punishable by a fine of $250 per day, which will be credited to the student`s financial account. Pets are not allowed at Yale Housing. Confirming that the pet policy has been violated will result in a daily fine until the issue is resolved and may result in immediate termination of the housing contract. Students must submit a room change request form to Yale Housing. If and when space is available, Yale Housing will contact students with new construction or bedroom options.
There is a $250 transfer fee that will be charged to the student`s financial account. Yale Housing is closed for business during holidays and winter holidays. Students can stay in their buildings and rooms or go to and from campus during breaks. Yale Housing does not offer guided tours of buildings, rooms or apartments. Students without a contract for the next academic year must cancel at the end of the current contract, Sunday, May 30, 2021. Dormitory residents who have renewed their room for the next academic year, but leave campus for the summer, are entitled to a 50% discount on summer rent to leave their belongings in their room. In some cases, lost or stolen keys pose a security risk and may result in the locking mechanism being replaced and new keys issued. Students receive a $250 fee on their SFAS accounts for this service. This process will be available for your access from Monday, March 1 and must be completed no later than Tuesday, March 22. Due to Covid-19, students living in 272 Elm are eligible for a one-time extension via Same Room Signup for 2021-2022. Lasat Day to request packing and shipping of student materials due to Covid due to visa or travel restrictions is June 30, 2021. After this date, students are responsible for packing, shipping and storing their own belongings. Any student who has an active assignment and leaves things in their room will be charged a room storage fee.
